Drink TRU to Nature

A peach in winter? An orange in summer? The idea's mouth-watering but from the planet's perspective, unsustainable. Given the cost of transporting fresh produce across thousands and thousands of miles, sustainable eating by definition is seasonal eating. Food that's in season and as locally grown as possible results in incredible flavors, lower prices, increased biodiversity and reduced pollution.

So we urge you to support farmer's markets and food coops, and encourage you to experiment and come up with inventive ways to use seasonal fruits and vegetables not just in your meals, but in your TRU cocktail too. Once you've got that cocktail down, send us the recipe and some pictures. You never know -- you could end up as our newest TRU Story!


Cilantro Martini

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz TRU organic lemon vodka
  • 1/2 oz Right gin
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (or to taste)
  • Juice of 1 organic lime
  • Pinch of freshly grated ginger
  • Fistful of fresh cilantro

DIRECTIONS:

Shake hard and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a cilantro tip.

The New Bond

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 oz TRU Organic Straight vodka
  • 1/2 oz vermouth

DIRECTIONS:

Shake until icy (don't stir), pour into a martini glass and garnish with lemon peel.


Dirty, Dirty, Dirty

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz TRU Organic Straight vodka
  • 1 teaspoon olive brine
  • 1 teaspoon onion brine

DIRECTIONS:

Shake hard until icy, pour in martini glass, garnish with olive and pickled onion.


Smokey

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz TRU Organic Straight vodka
  • Splash of whiskey

DIRECTIONS:

Stir with ice, strain into martini glass; garnish with haggis...or lemon peel.


Old School

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz TRU Organic Straight vodka (icy)
  • Dry Vermouth

DIRECTIONS:

Swirl dry vermouth in bottom of chilled martini glass; pour vodka, garnish with pimento-stuffed olives.


Churchill

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 oz TRU Organic Straight vodk (icy)
  • A closed bottle of vermouth

DIRECTIONS:

Pour TRU into chilled martini glass, garnish with lemon peel or olive, look at bottle of vermouth.


TRU Gibson

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz TRU2 Organic gin
  • 1 oz dry vermouth

DIRECTIONS:

Pour into a martini glass, garnish with pickled onion.


Italian Job

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz TRU Organic Straight vodka
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Olive oil

DIRECTIONS:

Spray chilled martini glass with balsamic vinegar, shake vodka until cold, pour into martini glass, garnish with swirl of olive oil.
