Renewing Nature

Are all trees created equal? Some are more equal than others! We picked Central America because trees grow quickly in the warm, wet tropical climates, reaching their peak carbon absorption period faster.

To make sure those trees have maximal impact, we work with organizations such as Sustainable Harvest International. We like their holistic approach to helping local families and farmers make a decent living while addressing deforestation. The results are pretty exciting.

What is the Impact of One Tree per Bottle™?

To make the math easy, let's say a bar goes through six cases of TRU on a Saturday night. That's 36 bottles. And 36 trees.

Each tree removes 790 kgs of CO2 from the atmosphere over an average 50-year lifetime.

Those 36 trees remove 28,440 kg or 31 tons over their lifetime.

That's the equivalent of...

  • The daily carbon footprint of 517 Americans, or
  • Taking about 5 cars off the road for a whole year, or
  • A 7,000-person office building recycling all its paper for two weeks.

And that's just from 36 bottles, sold in one bar one Saturday night!

Planting trees is great! What else can we do?

We're constantly looking for ways to be even more earth friendly using innovations in packaging, transportation and storage. Each time we find something better, we switch.
